People pick on me still because I liked the first Twilight movie, it was nothing great. A simple guilty pleasure but the things I liked most about the film was some members of the Cullen family. Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed to be more specific. But I wasn’t a fan of New Moon because it was annoyingly lovey-dovey. So here comes the trailer of the third film of the franchise and it looks great. It has David Slade(director of Eclipse who directed the amazing 30 Days Of Night) written all over it.
As for the trailer, it’s fantastic. Thanks to Slade now we can call this franchise a real horror!

  • The vampire rampages looks quite similar to 30 Days Of Night, which is a great thing.
  • The vampires coming out of the water bit was creepy.
  • Full-frontal vamps vs. wolfies, been a while since Underworld.
  • Jackson Rathbone amazed me with his film ‘Dread’(check out my review on the left) and his 3 seconds appearance in the trailer gave me chills. The dude is awesome.

These are the things that gives me hope that this film will be spectacular.

I know I will be flamed for liking Twilight, but say whatever you want about the last two films, Slade will do great!

March

Repo Men

Cast: Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber, Alice Braga.

Synopsis: Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed.

Personally, I cannot fucking wait for this film. Everything I’ve seen so far looks badass. And I cannot wait to see Law and Schreiber together.

April

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Cast: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Kellan Lutz, Kyle Gallner, Clancy Brown, Thomas Dekkon, Connie Britton.

Synopsis: A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.

This is the horror film that I’m most excited to watch this year. After his dead-on performance as Rorschach, Haley will yet play another psycho. And the latest trailer pushed the bar so high for me that I cant wait anymore. And I’m one of those people who doesn’t bitch about remakes.

After.Life

Cast: Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci, Justin Long.

Synopsis: A young woman caught between life and death… and a funeral director who appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but might just be intent on burying her alive.

Did you look at the cast? That is one rare cast for horror. And click on the small poster, it looks shit cool in full size. And the movie’s getting great reviews all over the internet.

Shelter

Cast: Julianne Moore, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

Synopsis: A female forensic psychiatrist discovers that all of one of her patient’s multiple personalities are murder victims. She will have to find out what’s happening before her time is finished.

The premise looks great. The lead cast is great. And yet another cool looking poster with great reviews all over the internet.

May

Survival Of The Dead.

Cast: Devon Bostick, Athena Karkanis, Kathleen Munroe.

Synopsis: On an island off the coast of North America, local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state.

A zombie movie directed by George A. Romero. Need I say more? Lately it’s all been shit though. Still, gotta have some faith.
