If you’ve noticed, I am really excited about the ‘Elm Street’ remake. But because I don’t live in USA I’m gonna have to wait until it comes out here. Now I’m the type of guy who likes to see 5 posters and 2 trailers before the movie’s release. That is enough for me and anything beyond that leaves me pissed off. Now, Bloody-Disgusting is releasing 15 clips of this remake everyday and all I can say right now is “stop fuckers”! I didn’t see any of those videos of course. But  don’t get the point why so many clips need to be released. It destroys the vibe, mystery of a film. Same shit happened with Clash of The Titans. People tells me to just ignore it as it is none of my business, those clips are aimed for other people. And I know that, but I cannot help but freak out every time I see all these videos released. And that’s why I love Christopher Nolan. Besides how awesome Nolan’s movies are, they are always a secret and you need to find what it is about AFTER watching the movie.

I have the script of the ‘Elm Street’ remake. So, I read one-fourth of it, obviously I don’t wanna spoil myself and ruin the movie, but I hear those videos are also showing 2 of the kills I read. I read that part of the  script to check if it’s good or not. But the videos are RUINING IT! WHAT’S THE POINT ANYWAYS!??!

Share what you think. You are against it or in favor of it?

Director: Martin Scorsese.Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Jackie Earle Haley.

Yet another disappointment. Not that the movie was bad, to be fair it was great. But it just didn’t satisfy me as much as I wanted it to.

Synopsis: Umm….2 federal marshalls are to investigate the disappearance of a woman from a “mental hospital for the criminally insane”. As the investigation moves forward…everything else goes beyond retarded(seriously, the movie twists and turns every 15 minutes so there is no way of a proper synopsis).

I loved the classy look of the film. And the acting’s amazing which I dont think I need to mention. Leo, as always nails his role. I never really was a fan of Ruffalo but in this film he convinced me he’s a good actor. Now, I love Scorses(who doesn’t) but I’d like to take a moment here to say ‘fuck you’ to him. Why would he misuse Haley like that? Haley was amazing with his role but he was there for like 4 minutes?

The premise of the film had potential(and it quite succeeded), the set-up was good. Now what bothered me was twists and turns. Yes, the movie was thoroughly unpredictable but “I” think I needed a little more time to swallow what I was provided before the film took a different turn. I was starting to adopt with a situation and bam! there was a new situation where I had to start over. **HUGE SPOILERS** The scene where Teddy(Leo) discovers the missing woman in the cave, had some conversation which I thought was crucial to the plot and the next moment I found out it was a trickery of his mind.**END OF SPOILERS** And this was really hard to keep up with.

So yeah, basically this is what I have to say. I liked the movie and all but it didn’t live up to the expectations I had. I probably would’ve liked it a little more if it was 15 minutes longer. Shutter Island is 7/10 for me.

March

Repo Men

Cast: Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber, Alice Braga.

Synopsis: Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed.

Personally, I cannot fucking wait for this film. Everything I’ve seen so far looks badass. And I cannot wait to see Law and Schreiber together.

April

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Cast: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Kellan Lutz, Kyle Gallner, Clancy Brown, Thomas Dekkon, Connie Britton.

Synopsis: A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.

This is the horror film that I’m most excited to watch this year. After his dead-on performance as Rorschach, Haley will yet play another psycho. And the latest trailer pushed the bar so high for me that I cant wait anymore. And I’m one of those people who doesn’t bitch about remakes.

After.Life

Cast: Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci, Justin Long.

Synopsis: A young woman caught between life and death… and a funeral director who appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but might just be intent on burying her alive.

Did you look at the cast? That is one rare cast for horror. And click on the small poster, it looks shit cool in full size. And the movie’s getting great reviews all over the internet.

Shelter

Cast: Julianne Moore, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

Synopsis: A female forensic psychiatrist discovers that all of one of her patient’s multiple personalities are murder victims. She will have to find out what’s happening before her time is finished.

The premise looks great. The lead cast is great. And yet another cool looking poster with great reviews all over the internet.

May

Survival Of The Dead.

Cast: Devon Bostick, Athena Karkanis, Kathleen Munroe.

Synopsis: On an island off the coast of North America, local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state.

A zombie movie directed by George A. Romero. Need I say more? Lately it’s all been shit though. Still, gotta have some faith.
