Director: Brian Pulido
Cast: Tony Todd, Clare Grant, Bill Moseley, Jillian Murray, Randy Blythe.

Synopsis: Two inseparable sister’s visit to a remote mine town turns into a mind-bending fight for survival against menaces both human and supernatural.

The Good

Yes there is a good thing about this flick. The only good thing. Other wise I already would’ve flipped out by now. Jillian Murray, not only is she really hot but the girl can act. Everytime she was on screen, I stopped throwing random things around.

The Bad

Jesus Christ! this movie was bad. Like REALLY BAD. Talk about a dumb script with lazy execution, Brian Pulido should take a dive after this. Bill Mosely was bearable but man, you are a genre actor at his best so why would you even read this script? And Tony Todd really need to stop being the same guy in every movie he is in. Clare Grant is a worse version of Megan Fox, even her super hotness couldn’t save her from my hatred. And Randy Blythe, I am a big fan of Lamb Of God but he really should’ve been in some other flick. I was dozing throughout the film. Lame-ass dialogues and stupid character, add bad acting to that. The premise had been done better thousand times before. It was so boring that I wanted to stab myself and my dog. I swear to god this movie is awful and I dont wanna rant anymore ’cause it will be a waste of my time and it will leave me pissed off for the next 2 hours.

There is a sequel on it’s way?!? Motherfucker!!

Just skip it. That is all I can say and I promise you will be doing yourself a favor. For me it’s a 1 out of 10.

Director: Oren Peli.

Cast: Katie Featherson, Micah Sloat.

So, I avoided this movie until now, because frankly the marketing stuff looked lame to me. But I couldn’t help myself checking out what all the fuss was about. I’m glad I watched it though. Not that it’s as great as people saying it is, but it was good on it’s own right. Okay, now screw the people who said it was the scariest movie of all time. I remember only being scared once, the ending, when THAT suddenly happened. But that isn’t even the best part of Paranormal Activity. I think, the best thing about it is the creepiness we see throughout. I know what I’m saying doesn’t sound much heavy but this creepiness is really something to talk about. And those night video-scenes were great. The thing I was afraid of most before watching it was I thought I’d fall asleep. Good god, I didn’t. Yes, the pacing was slow but it never got boring. And I really liked that psychic bit, it was cool. So here are the good stuff.

Now, I don’t know about anybody else but I sure as hell ain’t taunting a demon when I know IT IS ACTUALLY A DEMON! Micah, dude, I understand you love your girlfriend so much that you won’t leave her even when all this creepy shit is happening, but, WHY FUCK WITH THE DEMON?!?

Paranormal Activity is, by definition, a good movie. I understand why so many people love it and hate it at the same time. I’m kinda in the middle, you see, I think it’s a pretty forgettable film but when I look at the budget, the actors, director and other technical stuff, this looks like a master-piece to me.

Next up, is ‘The Fourth Kind’!!!

The first movie I’ve seen of this year’s “After Dark Horror Fest”.

Director: Joel Anderson.

Cast: Talia Zucker, Rosie Traynorr,David Pledger, Martin Sharpe, Steve Jodrell.

What’s It About

The movie is basically about a girl dies while swimming, this leads to a series of unusual events that twists and turns every 15 minutes and ends up very unusually. But the main thing to say is, the girl lived two lives.

The Pros

I’ll give you a 5-letter word, “CREEPY”. The movie creeped me out in a whole different way and I wasn’t even looking forward to this one. The thing is, everything in this movie, the documentry style execution, the video footages, the photos, the actors, the threesome, you just name it and I can guarantee you that it’s creepy.

The execution was great, the way they unfolds the mystery wasn’t new or original but it was quite different(in a good way) and disturbing.

The Cons

Umm….the movie is really really slow. It’s only 1 hour 20 minutes but it felt like forever.

I’m not sure if the following falls in “The Cons” rather than “I am retarded”. I failed to understand the ending(a creepy one with the psychic), which is pretty much a big part of the point the movie tried to make. So, I asked someone to explain it to me and after he did, it actually makes awesome sense.

This is quite a good movie if you can go with the flow. I’ll give this one a 5 out of 10.

If you have problems with the ending(like I did), here is how I understood:

Select the yellow text below and you’ll be able to read it. Just sayin’.
*******MASSIVE SPOILER********
You mean the bit at the end with the psychic?

It was just showing that Alice had more than one premonition of her own impending death.

When she’s talking to the psychic, she says she could feel her mom in her room looking for her, but thought it was an odd dream of some sort.

After she had died, her mom told the same psychic that she could feel Alice event though she wasn’t there.

So basically, the whole thing is about someone knowing they’re doomed to die soon, even if only subconsciously, and how it effects everyone.

Reviews Pending.
