Although it looks like an ‘Orphan’ rip-off, actually it’s not. They do cross the same roads though.

Cast: Renee Zelwegger, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper, Jodelle Ferland.
Synopsis: “Case 39″ centers on an idealistic social worker who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that the girl is not as innocent as she thinks.
THE PROS
HOLY CRAP! The kid(Ferland) creeped the fuck out me. She did things that convinced me not to adopt any kids(not that I was planning on it).
The movie was fairly creepy. I mean this is more of a thriller than horror, so the suspense kept building and I was entertained. It never got boring.
Ian McShane is always fun to watch. Whether it’s an action flick or magical one or horror, it doesn’t matter, he makes his character enjoyable. And also, same goes for Bradley Cooper with a cherry on top.
There was a scene with Brad Cooper and creepy little Ferland that was so amazing, when the scene ended I was like wtf..? At least rent the movie to see that scene.
The two parents of the kid did a good job.
THE CONS
Why does Renee Zelwegger always looks like she is having lower intestinal problems? Her facial expressions were shit. And she was also a better actress before.
The movie went downhill after 55 minutes of its runtime. It could have been a lot better if they didn’t go all typical and predictable.
OVERALL
The movie is not good as Orphan(my 5th favorite movie of last year) was, I’m comparing because they are from the same ‘evil-kids’ sub-genre. Orphan had a better premise and a lot better ending whereas this movie started good but ended like just another movie from the corner. That being said, this doesn’t mean it was bad, it stands on its own as a decent enough time-passer. I’ve seen better but I’ve seen way worse as well. It gets a 65% (B-).

Huh,really? Orphan was great and people around me was saying good stuff about it. It has good ratings in IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes(I think).
And my favorite horror movies or just movies?
Horror:-
1) Trick R’ Treat, 2) Orphan, 3) District 9, 4) Zombieland and 5) Friday the 13th or Infestation(it’s a tie).
Overall:-
1) Inglorious Basterds, 2) Up In The Air, 3) Angels and Demons, 4) Sherlock Holmes and 5) Orphan.
What makes Orphan a better MOVIE is its acting, execution and premise also the climax and dialogues.

I am dying to see Trick R’ Treat. Given my limited amount of time to watch movies, though, I try to mix in some non-horror films for my boyfriend

Sorry I forgot, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans would be my 5th favorite horror movie.
And I hated Drag Me To Hell and Jennifer’s Body more than I hate cockroches. And my guilty pleasure would be The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations.

I reallllly liked Drag Me to Hell. I like Sam Raimi a lot, though, so…it just made me happy. Jennifer’s Body I felt was an ADD movie – it could have been a decent horrorcom (the whole idea of the popular girl actually being evil and eating boys…pretty funny) but it couldn’t sit still and focus long enough to actually be good.

My problems with Drag Me To Hell are:
*It dragged.
*No logic whatsoever.
*Demon salsa dancing thingy.
*Blood vomiting and turning out fine.
with
*cat-killing
and
*goat talking.

the goat talking was AWESOME! I dunno…I thought it was good ol’ fashioned camp. Perhaps a bit draggy at moments but I thought it had some decent scares and a lot of really funny moments. And, hey, vast improvement over spiderman 3…then again, I think a pile of rocks on the side of the road would be a vast improvement over spiderman 3…

I liked Spidey 3 more than Drag The Movie To Hell unfortunately which isn’t saying much as you already know what spidey 3 was.
I see you took a liking to the horror blog I suggested.
